Monday's Meanderings

~My weekend was very interesting. I had a couple unexpected phone calls, stressed a bit..and now things are back to normal. As normal as normal can get, I guess.

~One of the cats caught a Blue-Jay and my daughter tried very hard to save it. After an hour though, it died.  It had a small bite on one if its wing. Looked fine otherwise, but it couldn’t stand up or walk, and couldn’t stop shaking.

~I went to bed early last night. 10pm DH was happy and assumed, by me going to bed early, I would wake up this morning with bells on,  ready to hop into a well lit room,  have conversation, etc. at the crack  of dawn.

I did-  but man, Oh man!  am I grouchy right now.

Here it is, before noon, and I’ve already been up for 6 hours. Don’t like that!

I have Zumba class for the next 4 nights in a row and was really hoping to have more energy then I do right now.

I simply do not understand morning people.

I mean, unless you have a mass amount of work to do, why wake up early? And even then…

If I’m up at 5-6am..I have every single thing that I can possibly do here, done by noon.

Then I spend the rest of the day looking at the clock…and being cranky?

So, No! I’m fine being like the women at the well….

Some day I will be appreciated for that. See? I’m hopeful. :o)

~I sit here finishing up the last bit of coffee from the pot…as the kids are deep into their last week of lessons..

~I don’t have to cook today and have leftovers galore. I’m happy about this.

~I was watching HSN a bit ago and now I find myself still thinking about the Deluxe spin mop! But $40 dollars for a mop and bucket? Not gonna happen. I will wait for the uncanny model that will eventually come to Wal-mart for only $20. And even that, is pricey for a mop. I wish there was way to try before you buy.

~My 6yr old starts kids Zumba this Friday and is very excited. My 5yr old may sit in to see if it is something she may want to do.  My son is not sure. It is for boys and girls ages 4-10. I know the instructor well, as she is my Zumba instructor too. She just got certified to teach Zumba-Atomic now. Which is for kids! :o)

~That is it for today….

Fridays Thoughts

Woke up to another easy day. DH took the kids to work with him. Well, two out of five that is. He had to work till noon today, and days where he leaves early, he likes to bring the kids to work. I stayed home and did Easter crafts with the three youngest. It was a lot of fun.

Dh and I went to go see Titanic today. The 3pm show, which was not a matinee because we wanted to see it in IMAX 3-D. For those who don’t know..IMAX is extra loud. The screen is nearly twice the size, and the special glasses are much better then the standard 3-d ones that you generally get for a plain 3-D movie. The movie was 3.15minutes long.

The last time we saw it was the year it came out, and that was in a drive-in. Granted we went to see it 4x! But I had forgotten what an epic love story it was. No one actually goes and sees it for the semi-documentary side. At least I don’t think so. *grin*

The only thing that could have made it better was if the old lady jumped at the end. That is what Dh said. I still don’t see why she had to throw the necklace over board. THAT should have been sold and the funds left to the grand daughter IMO. But…..

Another funny thing is, I’ve never actually ever heard of the Titanic. That is, until it came to the movie came out. lol

After the movies we went out for a coffee, and then home to pick up the kids for church. They were having a flashlight egg hunt.

I was telling one of my friends about it and she told me that it is with flashlight because the Jewish tradition the mom and dad use hide ten pieces of yeast bread outside (representing sin) and the kids would look for them in the dark with their  flashlights.

When they found them, they wouldn’t touch them… Instead, they would scoop them up with a wooden spoon and feather, and put them in a paper sack to burn.

I thought that was interesting. I honestly did not know. Did you?

We then got home and I got everyone in bed..including Dh..So now I have quiet time to relax.

Tomorrow is going to come early…. My daughter has only one more Round Robin before her TN. trip..Then she will be off to state nationals in Florida. I’m so proud of how hard she has been studying, without me even mentioning the need. This has become very important to her..She also has only two small groups left before her rally. She  is hoping to be crowned Queen this time. She was crowned Princess last time. ❤

Guess that is it for today….

Thursday's Ramblings

Today has been one of those days…You know the ones…Where you wake up,  just want to gaze at  the ceiling, for no apparent reason.

Not much to do because I did all the cleaning last night. The kids had a very easy day ahead of themself, too. They have one more week of school, and then they are off for a couple months.

Al’as-I forced myself to get up.  The kids were already awake and doing their lessons. The house was peaceful and quiet.

I decided to start  cooking. I took some boneless chicken out last night, and placed it in the crock pot with some chicken stock and shredded chedder cheese. I then made a big pot of brown rice and a tossed salad. YUM!

Then I realized that I had some severely over ripe nanners. My daighter makes banana muffins and bread all the time, so we wanted to do something different. I have never made, or even tasted Banana pudding, which seems to be a Southern favorite down here.

I asked on FB what I should make. One person said Bananas Foster, which I had to Google, because I had never heard of it. Turns out,  you cook the bananas with brown sugar and butter, and use as a syrup over ice cream and french toast. Sounds  sinfully heavenly!  But also insanelyyyyy rich.

My daughter found a banana cookie recipe, which was what another had mentioned to make ..Then my son commented that he felt like cake. I checked and had a block of cream cheese, so cake it is!  Well, not really cake, but cupcakes. :o)

There is something extra special about a cupcake. It’s a feeling. No one would ever place a whole cake in front of them..but when you have a cupcake on a plate and it is right under your nose…It just makes you feel special. You know you can eat the whole thing by yourself! :o)~

I ‘m sitting here finishing my coffee, then will start on those cupcakes.. DH bought this new coffee flavoring, called Honey-Vanilla. Tastes wretchid! But…..*The thought that counts right?*

I love honey, but I guess not in my coffee. This stuff is nasty! lol

I wanted to lay out and tan today but it’s not a tanning day. The sun has been in and out all day. Even though it’s in the upper 70’s. I like it to be in the 80’s when I lay out. I was going to lay out and tan yesterday, but DH said he thought I was going to get stung by a wasp..so I decided to take warning, and not. *G*

What else?

My kids have been busy all week playing at the creek in the woods.

They have been bringing me gifts each day.

We had no idea about the creek until late last year. We also didn’t know there was anything in it!  I’m not a creek expert, or anything like that…In fact, I didn’t even know what a creek was until we moved down here and I heard the term! LOL

Our creek is full of cute little creatures. Crayfish, salamanders, tadpoles, toads & frogs. So cute! The kids have brought me a bit of everything..<3

My salamanders died..I think we have one left. Someone told me that they need running water..All my tadpoles are doing great and a couple crayfish have made it.

We have been feeding all our fish tank fish live food to keep them healthy, so that has been neat. We have our ‘pets’ then we have our food for fish! My 7 year old had a big problem with this at first and couldn’t bare the thought to feed live tadpoles to the fish.

After explaining it to her, she’s now the first to start the morning with A—-

“DID ANYONE FEED THE FISH YET, CAN I?”

 SO CUTE!
