So much truths it!

Repentance-

Something has bothered me for years and this past year especially but no one wants to talk about it much less preach about it.

We have had massive fires in the western and southern United States. Last summer saw a record number of hurricanes in the Atlantic. And now we have record number of counties with record cold.

Has anyone bothered to ask God why? I see christians asking for protection and relief but have any of us asked why? Why is the west burning? Why are hurricanes making landfall over and over? Why are tornadoes sweeping through our towns? Why are we so cold the power grid can’t keep up?

Some will say it’s man-made global climate change. Some will say it’s poor planning. Some will say it’s just one of those things. And all of those may have a factor in it.

But I’m going to suggest there’s more to it. I’m going to suggest this is because of the sin of this nation.

Like ancient Israel we founded this country on God. The pilgrims came here for religious freedom and landed at the one site where no native tribe lived. The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution make mention of the Creator. We were founded on biblical principles and laws.

And in my lifetime, we have left those principles and made new laws. They passed their children through the fires. We abort ours. They worshipped idols. We worship money, houses, cars, careers, vacations, etc.

We have no respect for the unborn, or the elderly and no equality of justice. Especially this past year, our elderly are locked away and in some places abandoned as though left on an ice flow for the polar bears. And no one cares. And worse yet, those responsible justify their actions. Businesses are shut down but abortion clinics are open. And justice depends on how much you can pay for a lawyer or how sympathetic your cause.

When are Christians going to own this?

God is speaking but instead of repentance, we just ask for healing.

This is our fault, America! Jesus loves us but we have to do our part. We have to stand up for our neighbors and take care of them. It starts in the heart. And it starts next door.

God’s not healing or protecting anything until we humble ourselves and pray and preachers start preaching the true Word and not a social gospel. Stop condemning your neighbor for his lifestyle show him the Jesus of the Bible. The one who wouldn’t condemn but admonished “leave your life of sin before something worse happens.”

Repentance and healing start in the heart and on our faces before God.

Garden beds

We have decided to garden on a larger scale this year. Five raised beds and two plots.

The fruit trees are in full swing, and the bees are doing good. Praise God!

We have an old greenhouse area that we are going to fence up for chickens again. The chicks will be here next week. I’m not too happy to hassle with chickens again, and I’m sure our neighbors won’t be either…but we will see how it goes.

Our raised beds will be very easy for me to pull weeds and harvest.

Peaches are in full swing, but need to get some deer deterrent. Two pear trees have no fruit yet.

One plot will be homing beams for my MIL.

Plot two we have not decided on what to plant yet.

Rite Aid trip & The Flu

I was at Rite-Aid yesterday and something happened that I am still confused over.
As I was in line paying, an older woman, maybe mid-50’s, came up behind me and said “excuse me ma’am’ to the cashier.

The cashier stopping ringing me up, which was fine, as I was not in a hurry and I had a stack of coupons and was going to be there a while…

I turned around to see a woman with a flu-mask on.

I’m always set back when I see so many people out and about with these masks on. It’s one thing if you are at the pharmacy, because there is no one at home to run and get your meds, etc…But to be out and about–Subway, Pizza Hot (not eating, but just with your friends.) At conveniences stores getting cigarettes…WITH THE FLU!?
And yesterday, at RITE-AID….

What was so important? Why was she there? I didn’t notice any pharmacy bags in her hand.

She told the cashier and I not to worry, that she would leave her mask on. She was just diagnosed with the flu the previous day…

She then went on to tell the cashier that the wild birds ran out of bird seed, and she hated to have to come out, but what was she going to do?

The cashier and I exchanged glances..as to say, “I don’t know, stay home?!”

And if you really feel that the birds won;t be able to manage for a couple days, have a freind bring you a bag of bird seed?

Don’t get me wrong, I feed the wild birds here, regularly…I have been watching the Eastern Blue birds all morning..

But if I had the flu, I would not be leaving the house under no circumstances…
She said she just lived around the corner and didn’t want to travel far…Which was good.

The cashier told her that bird seed was seasonal, and they haven’t gotten it in yet. She then said thank you, and off to Walmart she went…

After she left the cashier told me she was crazy to be out for bird seed. I think I am more mad when I have my little ones with me…and that has happened in the past with people wearing masks, yet when they get in a coughing frenzy, they REMOVE them..to cough it out! This past year that happened at Sheetz, and we got sick. I wonder if it would be seen as rude to tell them that they should BE HOME!
Speaking of illnesses…I think it’s interesting that a rare-like Polio strand has been hitting California, paralyzing young kids…

Makes you wonder if the virus has been ‘let out’ purposely…So now they can ‘GET BUSY’ and work on a vaccine for it.

As well as this new flu strand that is targeting younger people..for those who DIDN’T feel the need to get the flu vaccine previous years, due to their age….
Will NOW run out and get it..Which apparently worked!
My friend April who has never felt the need to get the flu shot, got it this year, then got the flu.

DH and I have only gotten the flu shot once. And that was the year we both got the flu.
DH was telling me about a news report that he heard that said, many companies are now called DSS on their employees if they choose NOT to get the flu shot…:o(

It really does feel as if we are in the last days…

Will we not be able to buy or sell without a mark in this generation?
Will we get prosecuted for our love for Christ and stance on Freedom?

Will we die trying?

That is the question..

Are we really prepared for what lies ahead?

How about our children?

I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t been making me nervous…and I do not want to spend the rest of my days on earth focused on all of this. I want to live life to it’s fullest!

 

WATER PURIFICATION

 

 

To treat water, follow these steps:

1.Filter the water using a piece of cloth or coffee filter to remove solid particles.

2.Bring it to a rolling boil for about one full minute.

3.Let it cool at least 30 minutes. Water must be cool or the chlorine treatment described below will be useless.

4.Add 16 drops of liquid chlorine bleach per gallon of water, or 8 drops per 2-liter bottle of water. Stir to mix. Sodium hypochlorite of the concentration of 5.25% to 6% should be the only active ingredient in the bleach. There should not be any added soap or fragrances. A major bleach manufacturer has also added Sodium Hydroxide as an active ingredient, which they state does not pose a health risk for water treatment.

 
5.Let stand 30 minutes.

6.If it smells of chlorine. You can use it. If it does not smell of chlorine, add 16 more drops of chlorine bleach per gallon of water (or 8 drops per 2-liter bottle of water), let stand 30 minutes, and smell it again. If it smells of chlorine, you can use it. If it does not smell of chlorine, discard it and find another source of water.

WATER PURIFICATION

1)  Clear water is a sign of pure water. Always drain long-standing pipes for 30 seconds to one minute before drinking! I do this with water fountains too! Water in motels, etc.

2)  1 Gallon water is disinfected by 16 drops of regular household bleach (about 1/4 of a teaspoon) – double that for cloudy water. Shake gently, and let stand for 30 minutes. One teaspoon will disinfect 5 gallons.(think of your white 5 gallon pails.) Immediately after treating, water must initially have a slight smell of chlorine. If it does not – repeat the process.

3)  Household bleach is relatively harmless. The smell of chlorine is not bad: it indicates that water is treated and germ free. Once treated and disinfected, the chlorine smell will go away whith-in a few days.

4)  Regularly used water from large tanks may be treated once or twice a month with 1 Oz. bleach per 200 gallons or 5 Oz. bleach per 1000 gallons. 

5)  Long-standing water in tanks will be disinfected w/ 1 pint household bleach per 1000 gallons. (2500 gal tanks are fine with 3 pints.)  (Think of those big rain barrels.)

6)  Bleach effectively kills bacteria and viruses, stops smells and then breaks down. It’s effective germ killing alkaline property is completely neutralized very quickly. It does not stay chemically active in tanks for more than a few days. Most germs require sunlight to grow. Store water in a cool dark place.

Updated: Sugar & Raw Honey

Sugar and honey are great for serious wounds.

Pack the wound with sugar, seal it with honey and wrap it. Sugar breaks down and blocks the growth of harmful bacteria while simultaneously promoting the growth of good bacteria that kills harmful bacteria (like the kind that cause gangrene and sepsis).

The honey will keep bacteria and other contaminants out. Honey never spoils, although it might crystallize. I like to always have a large jar of UNstrained raw honey in the house. We use it for insect bites,acne,facials, etc. Raw honey is rather solid, and has a layer at the top of bee pollen, wax, and the occasional bee leg or wing! :o)
