Crime follows me around…

I was channel surfing earlier and came across the movie “A Cry for Help- The Tracey Thurman Story” I’ve seen this movie many times, and each time it makes me cry.  It is an older movie about
domestic violence, for those who have never seen it.  It was a true story that  happened in the same small town where I lived, extremely close by in fact.  This was back in Torrington Connecticut. They filmed the movie in Texas though, I’m not sure why.

Thinking about that story, got me thinking about a different story.. The Molly Bish story. She was a teen girl who was a lifeguard at a lake in Warren Massachusetts..Warren was a very small town where we use to live. In fact, one of the suspects the police had with her disappearance was my next door neighbor. I remember the day so clearly..I was baby sitting this 9 year old boy. We (DH and I, and our two oldest  kids lived there.) It was an apartment complex.  I would sit with this little boy while his mother was at work several times a week. One day he came over and told me that he didn’t like his mothers new boyfriend that just moved in with them..I asked him why, and he said that he didn’t know yet. His mom was at work that day and the boyfriend was supposed to be watching the boy, but the boy came over to our apartment and said that his moms BF left and went to the local lake instead. Less the 48 hours later, the police were at my door asking questions and taking statements. Later that evening, at about 1am, I woke up to music playing in the parking lot, and went over and looked out the window. I saw this guy  cleaning his car with a lantern, and even repainting it!  At 1am! It was the strangest thing. The next day the police were back asking everyone in the complex more questions. I told them about the guy painting his car and cleaning it at 1am….but it was too late, the guy had took off with the car sometime in the middle of the night.
We don’t know what ever became of the boyfriend because the following week we had moved..and 3 years later, we saw on the news, that the girls body was found. No arrests were ever made.

REVIEW: Energy Boost + Sally Hansen Spray-On Shower-Off

I have two reviews to put up. One good, one bad one. I’ll start with the good one.

Swansons Energy Boost   And for only five dollars I’m so glad I added it to my vitamin order last month. It started working about 20mins after I took on the first day. It is time released, so it is not something you would want to take at noon, unless you want to be up till 2am.  I bought it for the days that my husband insists that I wake up early with him..

It is nothing like all the energy pills and drinks that are on the market. It is very natural and only has 75mg of caffeine in it, along with bee pollen, green tea, cacao, B-12 and ginseng. Today is a perfect example of how great this stuff really is….I had five hours of sleep last night! I woke  up and took one of these and have been going strong since. :o)

The next product that I tried  was Sally Hansens new Spray-On Shower-Off Hair  remover foam. I REALLY wanted to love this stuff! I wanted to be optimistic so badly, that I didn’t even Google any reviews for it.  I went straight out to CVS, and dropped 7 dollars for it on a whim.  *G*  The bottle is quite small, only 6oz, which means you will get about 2 shaves, at most from it. The directions say to spray your legs in the shower, wait 3 minutes and shower, letting the water rinse all the little hairs away. Nice concept, if it actually worked.

The bottle says it’s for coarse hard to remove hair, which I actually don’t have. But figured if it works well for thick coarse hair then it certainly will remove my thin hair. WRONG! I did the patch test first,  just like the bottle said. After 3 mins nothing, so I did a new patch and waited 5mins, still nothing..In small lettering it says that the maximum amount of time is 10mins… So I went full force and sprayed both legs, waiting the full 10mins. After about 7mins, my legs started getting warm. After 10mins they were burning, so I Immediately  turned on the shower to rinse them and noticed they were all red and rashy. I might have been able to grin and bare it, if   it removed any hair whatsoever, but it didn’t! Not even one tiny hair came off. I have no idea why. I have used Nair in the past and after 3mins, the hair  rinsed right off like magic. The only thing I never liked about Nair was the ASO.

So after flushing 7 bucks down the drain— Literetly. I will not be buying this again. :o(

I went ahead and checked online for reviews after using it, and they sell it for a little over a dollar a bottle on Amazon. Figures! DH always tells me to use Amazon and I never do.  It got terrible reviews on Amazon, as well as on other peoples blogs. Most people say it did not work, and it burned them too!

Oh, and there is a funny warning on the bottle that says, Not to be used on your head. Does this mean someone actually tried? lol

Sunday

Today was the most relaxing day ever! Dh took all the kids this morning to a Christian concert at chruch and I got a chance to sleep in. I woke up at noon, swept and mopped the floors, had breakfast, watched the news,Googled a few things, and then they got back from the concert.

I had a late lunch all ready for them..Salmon burgers with swiss cheese, watermelon, grapes, salad and cheddar cheese bites. A very intresting combination, I know. But they enoyed it!

Then Dh went outside to do some outside stuff and the kids all went off to play..So I decided to go back to bed. I told Dh to wake me up no later then 4pm..But he didn’t, so I ended up waking up at nearly 5pm.  WOW! I am never going to get to sleep tonight…But I have 3 movies to watch so it will be fine.

I woke up and was ready to go out and do something fun, but it’s Sunday and everything closes early..so I asked Dh if he wanted to go out for dinner, which he did. We went to this seafood place  that we normally only get take-out, but decided to dine-in this time. It was good! When we were checking out, the owner said, ” I just want you to know that you are young, and you should not wait to do things that you want to do baby-doll…Please do everything that you want to do, because you may not have tomorrow…..” Then a guy behind me tossed a ten dollar bill on the counter and she said, “what is this for?”, and he said whatever you need it for..it is from God..She got teary eyed and thanked him, and then thanked us for dining there, reminding me to not wait to do things that I want to do.
